3D visualization of the final scene was a logical decision for the SuperCal Oil commercial production. It would probably cost a fortune to shoot it live, if at all possible. The bottle of the hero product had to appear right in the middle of the soccer field, surrounded by the cheering crowd of 50,000 during the nighttime event.
The distinguished color, material, and shape of the product’s bottle had to be emphasized, and vividly and precisely reproduced.
3D modeling followed by 3D visualization and photorealistic rendering was the production sequence for this shot.
We chose Estadio Omnilife (formerly known as Chivas Stadium) as a visual reference for the soccer arena. Club Deportivo Guadalajara, Mexico (i.e. Chivas) soccer club is an official sponsor of the product and their home stadium came as a first choice.
To simulate a cheering crowd, we shot a half-dozen of our friends and cloned them (agreeably) in post-production. See more 3D related animation projects…
