Bobrov Ice Commercial

The initial idea to put the logo inside the ice cube was rejected right after the preliminary static renders were completed and presented to the client. It took about two weeks, four or five storyboards revisions and gallons of coffee to get to the final concept and have a “cold fire” inside the huge chunk of ice as a mold for the bottle birth.

3D ice cubes models were build using Luxology Modo software, all shapes were altered significantly to look different when multiplied in the final render. Quite an interesting approach was found when we were looking for solution to synchronize ice cubes movements with the background sound track. Low frequency signal was extracted from the sound track and exported to the new sound file. It was converted then to the ice cubes animation curves (using SideFX Houdini CHOPs).
